Stanisław Bielecki

A professor of technical sciences, recognized biotechnology authority ( in particular: molecular and industrial biotechnology), food technology, related disciplnes and bioeconomy. Currently, the main areas of his scientific investigation are: molecular and industrial biotechnology, bioeconomy, biopolimers and in particular bacterial cellulose and its applications, applied biocatalysts, molecular engineering of enzymes, enzymatic synthesis of oligosaccharides, biocatalysis in nonconventional systems. Professor Bielecki is an author or co-author (scientific attainment features) of over 200 research papers, 51 patents and 10 patent applications. He is a director of the IBT, a member of the Council of the European University Association (EUA, 2016-2020), member of the European Bioeconomy Stakeholders Panel at the European Commission (2016-) and a member of: the Biotechnology Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Innovation Council of the Lodz Region, and the Foundation of Polish Rectors. Moreover prof. S. Bielecki has many years of experience in managment of higher education institution. He was a rector of the Lodz University of Technology in 2008-2016. He is a member of national and international scientific organizations and expert teams working in the field of biotechnology and bioeconomy. He is an author and co-author of a series of reports and expert opinions on the strategies and perspectives of biotechnology and bioeconomy development in Poland.
